Location Champaign-Urbana, home to the University of Illinois, is a place where the sense of community found in small cities and towns meets the outstanding cultural and entertainment opportunities usually associated with major metropolitan areas. The university itself is home to two art museums, and an important summer student repertory theater, a stadium that plays host to major traveling productions and performances, an art movie house and several jazz, folk and new music venues, all of which remain open throughout the summer months. An excellent bus system that connects the campus with downtown makes bringing an automobile optional but unnecessary. The university community is serviced by 3-4 daily flights on American Eagle from Chicago, so it is possible to fly directly into town. Flights into Chicago can be met by a frequent bus service, and there are both trains and buses to and from Chicago which take approximately two and a half hours.
