The AEMS Database includes more than 6,000 records for DVDs, videocassettes, curriculum units with audio-visual components, and other non-print media helpful for teaching and learning about Asia.

Each record includes a detailed description of the item and information on how to obtain the item from its distributor. The database is continuously updated by AEMS staff.

ADVANCED SEARCH FIELDS
Abstract: Search returns items that contain the search term in the item's abstract. It is possible that an item does not have an available abstract.

Audience: Drop-down menu. The search returns items that are classified by the specified audience: elementary, secondary, higher education, and/or professional development. Items may be classified with multiple selected audiences, indicating it has broad use.

Author/Director: Text field. The search returns items that contain the search term in the author and director field.

Country: Text field. The search returns items that are classified as pertaining to the specified country. To view additional information about which countries are listed in our database, go to region/country organization.

Distributor: Text field. The search returns items that contain the search term in the titles.

Media type: Drop-down menu. The search returns items that are classified by the specified audience. Currently, media types include Feature Films, Documentary Films, Music, and Other. The "other" designation refers to curriculum units, posters, computer-based media, among other items.

Region: Drop-down menu. The search returns items that are classified by the specified region. To view additional information about which regions are listed in our database, go to region/country organization.

Subject: Drop-down menu. The search returns items that are classified by the specified subject. For a complete listing of subjects used in our database, go to subjects/subtopics organization.

Title: Text field. The search returns items that contain the search term in the title field.

LIMITING YOUR SEARCH
Currently, searches can be limited by (a) items available at AEMS' Local Media Library for Champaign County, Illinois residents and (b) items reviewed in AEMS' News & Reviews or, with permission, another journal.
