"7 Visions" was written by the award-winning playwright, Octavio Solis. The play explores the roots of Latino heritage, while honoring the Mexican holiday, Dia De Los Muertos. This richly musical tale is partly narrated through whimsical and wistful corridos performed by the trio, Cascada de Flores, arranged by Richard Marriott, with characters and scenery designed by Victor Cartagena.
Solis weaves a fable about the intermixture of American Indians and Europeans back when San Francisco was a mission called Dolores. A young man, named Encarnacion, is confronted by his future self - an irreverent skeleton. The calaca leads him on a vision quest to discover his true identity.
