Abstract:

Banned in Malaysia, Amir Muhammad's documentary captures the accounts of former members of the outlawed Communist Party of Malaysia, currently living in exile as farmers in Thailand. Footage of their narratives is interwoven with a popular radio play based on Shakespeare's "A Winter's Tale." As "A Winter's Tale" is the story of a king who falsely accuses his wife, it functions like a parable of Malaysia's relationship to the Communist party.
