Abstract:

Enrich students' knowledge of modern Japan and enhance your multicultural lessons. This unique program follows two Japanese children who lead very different lives: Eri lives in Nagoya, one of the largest Japanese cities, and Raki lives in the small farming village of Obara. Students will explore the daily lives of these children, learning about the peoples and cultures of different facets of Japanese life. Through interviews with Eri and Raki, their families, their teachers, and their friends, students will be acquainted with Japanese schools, games, homes, and food and will be encouraged to discuss how these lifestyles differ from the ones they lead.
