Abstract:

"The Kalasha live in the high valleys of the Hindu Kush Mountains in northwestern Pakistan. Because they mortgaged their land to Chitrali Moslems, their way of life now is threatened, and although the government is trying to safeguard their existence, the prospect of living in a tourist park does not appeal to the Kalasha. From the Disappearing World series. Anthropologist: Peter Parkes. English subtitles are used when local dialects are spoken."
