Abstract:

Using historical footage and interviews to describe the economic, political, and cultural impact of Subic Naval Base, Clark Air Force Base, and nine other U.S. bases in the Philippines, David Goodman's documentary provides the groundwork for understanding the popular movements in the Philippines for the withdrawal of the U.S. bases. Particular attention is paid to the impact of the military bases on women and children.
