Abstract:

Based on "Wings that couldn't fly," a collection of papers written by boys at a reform school, this film was shot on location and acted by real inmates who were, in effect, reliving their own experiences. Adding to the gritty realism is the extensive use of 8mm cameras and hand held shots to photograph scenes as an unobtrusive observer.
