"More than 150,000 girls between the ages of seven and sixteen work in the carpet factories of Nepal. Because oftheir families' poverty these girls left their homes to work in factories. With no adult to defend them, they work sixteen-hour days and receive harsh punishments for not meeting high-production quotas. The friendship the girls develop is what sustains them through the bleak realities of their days."
