Abstract:

"Known in different regions as 'Mother of Waters,' 'Turbulent River,' 'Great ater,' and 'Nine Dragons,' the Mekong River--the longest in Southeast Asia--binds together the cultures of six countries into a remarkable ethnic mosaic as it winds its way from the mountains of Tibet to the South China Sea.
