Abstract:

"As a result of the conflict waged by the Khmer Rouge, Cambodia has an estimated one land mine per person for everyone in the country, and the results are taking a devastating toll--300 amputees per month! This program tells the remarkable story of three young men who have created a charity which produces inexpensive wheelchairs using local labor and materials. Without the aid and inspiration of these men and their organization, the victims of Cambodia's civil war would be left to decay or die in a culture which has minimum resources and little understanding of wheelchair disabilities."
