Abstract:

"There is no arguing that the Japanese work force is better educated than the American. This 60 MINUTES segment shows three- and four-year-olds doing homework for hours each day so that they will get into the best kindergarten. The goal of the whole learning process is to gain admission to college, which assures a job commensurate with the reputation of the college."
