Abstract:

"Explores the lives of children in three Japanese families, and focuses on the relationships among family members. At the conclusion of the program, the Yanase family is shown making mochi (rice cake) at the local neighborhood association. The association is the heart of community life and illustrates the Japanese spirit of mutual cooperation and support that begins in the family and extends to the community."
